Our Approach

Travel as a Guest,
not a Spectator.

At Tomisa, we believe cultural tourism should create genuine exchange while respecting the people and communities being visited.

We ask our guests to

  • Ask before taking photographs, and follow community photography guidelines.
  • Respect local customs and dress appropriately.
  • Listen to community guides and follow their lead.
  • Avoid intrusive behaviour.
  • Avoid giving money or sweets directly to children.
  • Buy locally made crafts where appropriate.
  • Respect culturally and spiritually sensitive places.
Community benefit: the exact mechanism for community payments will be published only after Tomisa verifies the authorised organisation or community representative.
Travel as a Guest

Responsible Tourism should shape the experience, not sit beneath it.

Tomisa’s cultural brief asks guests to seek consent before photographs, respect local customs, follow community guides, avoid intrusive behaviour, avoid giving money or sweets directly to children, buy local crafts where appropriate and respect culturally sensitive places.
